Michael Myers is here to end it all, well sort of. The third and "final" chapter of the 2018 Halloween reboot trilogy takes a different approach to the franchise and is a bit of a departure compared to the last 2 films. It still brings the scares, the kills, and the gore while still being a fun movie on its terms.
Halloween Ends takes place 4 years after the events of Halloween Kills which many fans of the franchise have called the most disliked and divisive film out of all the Halloween films. In this final chapter of the saga of Michael Myers and Laurie Strode, director David Gordon Green introduces a lot of new elements which shine a light on new characters and a new form of "evil" that we haven't seen before in this new trilogy. Some elements work fairly well and are intriguing but at the same time, it takes away from the 44-year "conclusion" between Michael & Laurie and what most fans hope to see and expect from this final chapter. It also suffers from a lack of screen time from one of its main characters which is a big draw to fans of this franchise.
With its introduction to new characters and many different changes to the mythology of these films, Halloween Ends is definitely a step up from Halloween Kills and lives up to the promise of an epic final battle between Michael and Laurie but doesn't quite have the satisfying conclusion that the 1978 film or the 2018 reboot sets up.
